So you settle into your flight with a good book, some music... and a few cockroaches scurrying out of the airplane vents. That's what one couple says happened on an AirTran flight in September from Charlotte to Houston, and they're suing the airline for more than $100,000, the Daily Mail reports. Among the claims of Harry Marsh and his fiancee, Kaitlin Rush : intentional infliction of emotional distress, false imprisonment, fraud, and nuisance.
They also claim that other passengers commented on the critters, which were poking around before take-off and stayed long enough to have their pictures taken. When the couple complained, they say, a flight attendant put a finger to her lips to silence them. Afterwards they tossed some belongings and washed clothes they feared were infected by the bugs. AirTran made no comment, but said they value cleanliness and regularly treat their planes for bugs. (More cockroaches stories.)
