C-SPAN thinks the coming health care debate before the Supreme Court would be a perfect time to make history. The channel has written a letter to John Roberts requesting that it be allowed to televise the five-plus hours of arguments scheduled to take place in March over President Obama's health care overhaul, reports USA Today.
"It is a case which will affect every American's life, our economy, and will certainly be an issue in the upcoming presidential campaign," wrote C-SPAN CEO Brian Lamb. He better not hold his breath: The court has never allowed live video or audio broadcasts from its chambers, and Roberts in particular has long been opposed to the idea, notes the Huffington Post.
