Security camera footage from the hotel where a maid accused Dominique Strauss-Kahn of sexually assaulting her has been leaked to a French TV station—and both sides say it backs up their accounts. In the Sofitel Hotel footage, the former IMF chief can be seen calmly paying his bill and striding out to get a taxi, contrary to police reports that he fled the hotel in a hurry, the Telegraph reports. "The surveillance footage supports the firm conclusion that no crime was committed at all," one of his lawyers says.
Soon after the hotel's security chief reports the alleged assault, two security workers can be seen doing what looks like a victory dance. It goes on for about 13 seconds, not three minutes, as claimed by a writer who believes DSK was framed. The hotel says the outburst was unconnected to the alleged attack on Nafissatou Diallo, who has filed a civil suit against the Frenchman. Her lawyers note that the video shows her "outside of the security department still wearing her hotel uniform and gesturing and describing what DSK did to her that day." Strauss-Kahn says the encounter was "consensual but stupid." (More Dominique Strauss Kahn stories.)
