Rick Perry managed to avoid making any major gaffes at Saturday night's debate, only to follow it up the next day with … this. During an appearance in Iowa, he was slamming President Obama's administration for the spending choices it has made. "No greater example of it than this administration sending millions of dollars into the solar industry, and we lost that money," he said. "I want to say it was over $500 million that went to the country Solynda."
It was a double oops: First of all, that's Solyndra, not Solynda. Second, it's an energy company … not a country. After leaving the stage, Perry was heckled, but not about the gaffe. A university teacher asked him why he is "demonizing gay and lesbian people," while another man asked, "Why can't gays compete in the military?" Perry ignored both hecklers, CNN reports.
