Details are trickling out on the long-rumored celebrity breakup: Perry wanted Brand to file the divorce papers so as not to upset her religious parents, sources tell TMZ. Perry was raised with the belief that divorce is a no-no. The pair knew weeks ago that divorce was imminent and didn't want to be in LA's media whirlwind when the news broke—so he hightailed it to England and she to Hawaii. Recovering sex and drug addict Brand disapproved of Perry's wild lifestyle, including an all-night party in Rio earlier this year. He also didn't like Rihanna and Perry's other partying friends, the Daily Mail reports. The Twitter-verse is sparkling with reactions to the breakup, the Guardian reports, including: "I'm just glad Russell Brand and Katy Perry divorced before they made more of them."
