The longstanding Elton John-Madonna feud showed no signs of cooling down last night, when John's husband David Furnish took to Facebook to slam Madonna after she beat out John in the best song category. "Madonna. Best song???? F**k off!!!" he wrote, according to TMZ. Furnish continued, "Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit. Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in it's narcissism. And her critisism of Gaga shows how desperate she really is." For his part, John looked none too pleased when the cameras cut to him during Madonna's acceptance speech (watch at left).

The fightin' words had started earlier in the evening, during John's red carpet interview (watch at left), when he said Madonna "hasn't got a f***ing chance" of winning. During her own pre-show interview, Madonna responded with a quip about John wearing a dress and said, "May the best man win," the Daily Mail reports. Backstage after her win, she said that she hopes that Sir Elton will still speak to her, Us notes. "He's been known to get mad at me so I don't know," she continued. "He's brilliant and I adore him so he'll win another award. I don't feel bad!" For more Globes gossip, check out the snubs and surprises among the winners. (More Madonna stories.)
