Here's one way to deal with bullies. A Southern California dad has taken out a restraining order against a classmate of his fourth-grade son who he says threatened his boy with a knife. A judge has granted a temporary order requiring the classmate to stay at least 20 feet away from Robert Casteel's 10-year-old son, Christopher. "My son was terrified," Casteel told ABC News. "I kept him home for five days until I got the restraining order."
A pocket knife was taken away from the other boy and he was suspended for five days. An investigation is continuing, and a judge will decide on a permanent restraining order next month. Casteel is shocked he may be the first to ever take such an action, pointing out that a 10-year-old student recently stabbed a 12-year-old to death in San Diego. (More school assault stories.)
