In his Washington Post column today, David Ignatius stated flatly that defense chief Leon Panetta thinks it's a "strong likelihood" that Israel will bomb Iran in either April, May, or June. The columnist didn't explain how he learned this, and reporters asked Panetta this afternoon whether he disputed the assertion. "No, I'm just not commenting," he said, according to AP. He added that Israel has made no secret that it is considering military action to disrupt Iran's nuclear program.

"What I think and what I view, I consider that to be an area that belongs to me and nobody else," said Panetta. (More Leon Panetta stories.)
