Politics | John Fleming GOP Rep Fooled by Onion's 'Abortionplex' Story Rep. John Fleming outraged over fake Planned Parenthood facility By Evann Gastaldo Posted Feb 6, 2012 1:43 PM CST Copied Sen. David Vitter, R-La., left, accompanied by Rep. John Fleming, R-La., gestures during a news conference on Capitol Hill in Washington, Wednesday, March 11, 2009. (AP Photo/Harry Hamburg) The Abortionplex, a fake business dreamed up by the Onion, has fooled quite a few naïve souls who were simply outraged when they read about it. Now you can add a Louisiana congressman to the list of people who, somehow, failed to figure out that the Abortionplex is a joke. Literally Unbelievable, a blog dedicated to people who take Onion articles as fact, has a screenshot of Rep. John Fleming's Facebook page, where he links to the Onion article with this note: "More on Planned Parenthood, abortion by the wholesale." Sadly, while Fleming's page still features an impressive number of anti-Planned Parenthood posts, this particular one appears to have been removed. Lest you have forgotten who Fleming is, in September he whined about having to survive on just $600,000 per year, leading Jon Stewart to give him some budgeting tips.
