New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine was critically injured last night after a pickup truck struck his motorcade. "He's in serious shape, but he's alive and going to survive," says state senate president Richard Codey, acting governor until Corzine can resume his duties—which could be weeks. Cops are still looking for the driver responsible for the crash, who took off.

Corzine was on his way to moderate a meeting between ousted DJ Don Imus and the Rutgers women's basketball team when his SUV plowed into the Garden State Parkway guardrail. The governor suffered multiple broken bones, including a leg that will take months to rehabilitate, but sustained no brain injuries. (More Jon Corzine stories.)
