Anne Sinclair's patience might appear to be limitless, but Dominique Strauss-Kahn is again testing it to the max: The former IMF chief, who still faces civil action from the New York City maid who accused him of sex assault, is cooling his heels at a French police station this morning as investigators question him on his part in a prostitution ring, reports Reuters. Strauss-Kahn has in fact been arrested, adds the Daily Mail, for what it calls "complicity in pimping," and will be held at least until tomorrow.
At issue are numerous sex parties Strauss-Kahn attended—but as prostitution is legal in France, the legal sticking point is whether he knew women were prostitutes and whether company funds were used to procure them, not so much whether he had sex with them. Strauss-Kahn's lawyer denies that his client knew the women were hookers, and gives an unusual reason why: "At these parties, people were not necessarily dressed, and I defy you to tell the difference between a naked prostitute and any other naked woman."
