Iraq Watchdog Gets His Own Probe

The tables have turned on the federal watchdog who has spent the past four years investigating waste and fraud in Iraq—he's now the target of an FBI probe of his own alleged overspending and mismanagement. Former employees claim that Inspector General Stuart Brown paid some employees inflated six-figure overtime, misused taxpayer funds, and snooped in staff emails, the Washington Post reports.

The allegations have prompted four probes, including the FBI inquiry. They  also allege the firing of a whistle-blower and "sustained patterns of inappropriate behavior" on the part of Bowen's deputy, a self-described wiccan, who is said to have used government funds to pay for her legal defense after she was accused of verbal sexual harassment and threatening to put hexes on employees. Bowen has dismissed at least one complaint as the result of  "disgruntled former employees." (More Stuart Bowen stories.)
