Normally, the artists at Madame Tussauds Wax Museum like to meet the people they're making sculptures of, but that wasn't possible with their latest creation. The museum unveiled a likeness of Anne Frank today, Der Spiegel reports, and it relies heavily on her famous diary for its details and its sense of her personality. The wax Anne sits at her desk writing, the scene around her strewn with things referenced in the diary.

"We wanted to show Anne Frank in the context in which she lived," a museum spokesman says. The display even features the faint sound of voices outside, an indication that Anne "can hear the world outside, but she can't be part of it." The figure happens to be next to one of anti-Nazi advocate Sophie Scholl and, more chillingly, one room over from Adolf Hitler. (More Anne Frank stories.)
