Drew Peterson transferred $250,000 to his son shortly after wife Stacy disappeared, Fox News reports. Investigators subpoenaed bank records showing that Drew wrote six checks to son Steve, fueling speculation that he's trying to protect the money in case he is sued. Peterson declined comment on the money transfers, except to tell ABC News that the "truth about them will come out."

"As more things come up, more things get knocked down," he said. "The whole incidence is losing credibility." The family of Peterson's third wife, who drowned in the bathtub under mysterious circumstances, has said it is considering filing a wrongful death suit against Drew.
