The snowstorm that pummeled the Midwest yesterday has shifted its icy, windy fury onto the Great Lakes and New England, Reuters reports. Eight inches of snow blanketed roads and runways in Boston, causing Logan Airport to cancel some 300 flights. Three traffic fatalities in Minnesota and Wisconsin were blamed on the weather, reports the AP.

Up to 18 inches were expected in northern New England by tonight. “At this point, fortunately, because there's been such limited travel out there, folks are listening,” said a Massachusetts emergency official. But not everyone in Foxborough stayed home: New England Patriots' fans shoved snow from their stadium seats today to watch their team triumph.
