Jeremy Lin Out for Season

Fare thee well, Linsanity, we barely knew you: Jeremy Lin's magical season likely ended yesterday when the Knicks announced the inspiring guard tore the lateral meniscus in his left knee, reports the New York Daily News. Actually, the injury should take six weeks to rehab, so if the Knicks went deep into the postseason Lin could conceivably return. But with star Amar'e Stoudemire also out with an injury, even getting to the playoffs is looking increasingly unlikely. “It sucks,” says Lin. "We really put our heart and soul into the team and into the season, and to not be there at the end when it really matters most, is hard."

Lin will be a free agent this summer, so despite the media spotlight he brought to the Knicks, there is no guarantee he will be in blue and orange next fall. Although that's what Lin has his eye on: “Oh yeah, I think New York, the way the city, the fans, writers, the media, everybody, I think, it’s been an unbelievable journey,” Lin says.
