Knicks Bared Lin Injury After Ticket Sales Deadline

Jeremy Lin was on the injury list with "sore" knees when he had an MRI March 26 and learned of a torn meniscus. But the Knicks didn't announce Lin was out for the season until Saturday. So why the delay? The New York Daily News doesn't believe it's just coincidence that March 28 was the deadline for season ticket holders to buy their playoff seats, a big financial windfall date for the Knicks, especially for a team clinging to the last playoff spot.

The Knicks even included a photo of a jumping Lin in the team email soliciting for playoff tickets sent after officials knew he was out. Complicating the Daily News' conspiracy, though, is its lack of explanation for why the Knicks kept Lin's status secret for three days after the playoff ticket deadline. The big loser from all this might be interim coach Mike Woodson, who nearly let the cat out of the bag last Friday, implying Lin could be done. The Knicks' PR team immediately sent out a release denying it, even though Woodson's comments were right on the money.
