Pippa Laughing Off Gungate: Pal
Pippa Middleton and other passengers laugh as driver points a gun at photographers in Paris over the weekend.   (7NEWS)

Her Royal Hotness is still chuckling about a pal who pointed a gun at paparazzi pursuing their car in Paris, reports the Daily Beast. Pippa Middleton thought it was "very funny," says friend Marcy de Soultrait. "We are funny people, it's what we do," he adds. Everyone in the car faces possible weapons charges under French law, but they've insisted the gun was a toy. The recently revealed identity of the driver, however, indicates that the gun was likely real. Roman Rabaillard works for a US law firm in Paris and represents German arms manufacturer Heckler & Koch, famous for its semi-automatic pistols, which look just like the kind of gun Rabaillard was brandishing.

De Soultrait's brother, fashion empire owner Viscount Arthur de Soultrait, is distancing himself from his sibling's comments and struggling to deal with the fallout with French authorities. The gun incident followed a wild Paris birthday party for the viscount, who was a passenger in the car. He has apologized for the incident, saying he regrets "enormously" that it happened, reports People. "As a joke, my friend brandished a toy pistol," he said in a statement in Paris yesterday. "Obviously, Philippa had no idea that he was going to do that, and told him to stop immediately. She did not find it funny." (More Pippa Middleton stories.)
