Fox News mole Joe Muto got an early morning wake-up call from the New York District Attorney's Office today, which served him with a search warrant at 6:30am, tweeted Muto. According to Muto's Twitter feed, he was greeted by a "very polite crew" who "took my iPhone, laptop, some old notebooks." He continues:

  • "According to the warrant, Fox News is apparently accusing me of grand larceny, amongst other things."

  • "They're pretty worked up over a clip of Romney talking about his horses."
  • "I should have done something more innocuous, like hacked a dead girl's phone and interfered with a police investigation."
If you think Muto sounds cool as a cucumber, the Atlantic Wire's Adam Smith explains that "we can only assume it's because he knows Fox and therefore expected to be served with a warrant, so cleared sensitive information from his hard drives." (More Joe Muto stories.)
