Today, in the annals of careers you really should have chosen instead of the one you're doing right now: diet-book writer. Grand Central Publishing has announced that it has won the rights to Venice A. Fulton's Six Weeks to OMG. Fulton will apparently get "seven figures" for the deal (in the US ... he got an "equally spectacular" deal in the UK, reports AP). What brilliance is contained in his dieting tome? He pushes no breakfast, being careful about eating broccoli, and taking cold baths. Seven figures.
Of course, to rake in mega-bucks like that you'll need a tagline as winning as Fulton's: "Get skinnier than all your friends." Writing for the Atlantic Wire, Ray Gustini recommends you "drop that novel you're working on about hometowns and come up with a few diet ideas. Maybe something involving ice chips." Or you could always try this depressingly lucrative career. (More book deal stories.)
