Lauryn Hill owns four companies and apparently has scads of money rolling in from song royalties, which means doing her taxes probably isn't a breeze. The IRS now says she employed the shaky accounting strategy of not filing at all from 2005 through 2007, reports Reuters. Given that she earned nearly $2 million in that span, the agency has charged her with three counts of failing to file her federal returns, each of which carries a potential sentence of a year in jail and a six-figure fine. And as Wesley Snipes learned, celebrity status is not a get-out-of-jail-free card with the tax man. (More Lauryn Hill stories.)
