A hand and foot received in the mail by two schools in Vancouver last week have been identified as those of Lin Jun, a Chinese student believed to have been murdered by porn actor Luka Magnotta. Only his head is still missing, and investigators suspect it may also have been mailed somewhere. A vigil will be held in Montreal tonight for the 33-year-old student, whose family released a letter to the public thanking them for the support they have received since their son's horrific murder, reports the Montreal Gazette.

"Everyone has showed great sympathy and compassionate support to help to make things easier for us," they said. "We are deeply touched by the kindness inspired by this human tragedy." A high school teacher in Montreal has been suspended and may face criminal charges for showing his students a video believed to show Magnotta murdering and dismembering Lin, reports the Toronto Star. Magnotta is being investigated in connection with several cold cases, but police in Miami have ruled him out as a suspect in a grisly 2009 murder. (More Luka Rocco Magnotta stories.)
