Scantily-Clad Women Protest Hooker Taxi Law

Can you tell who's a hooker at a glance? The lovely ladies protesting outside New York City Hall yesterday don't think you can. About a dozen bartenders and shot girls donned their sexiest evening wear to protest a new proposal that would impose stiff penalties on New York cab drivers who ferry prostitutes for a cut of their profits, the New York Post reports.

The protesters fear the law, which passed the city council unanimously, will make cabbies reluctant to pick up anyone in a miniskirt. "You don't have a shirt on that tells if you're a prostitute or not," said one bartender in a spaghetti-strap dress. The head of the taxi union agrees. "I will challenge any one of you to tell me which one of [these women] you would consider to be a prostitute,” he said yesterday. “They’re all sexy." (More taxi stories.)
