Two teenage lesbians were found shot in the head in a south Texas park on Saturday, and police have no apparent motive or suspect, MSNBC reports. Mollie Judith Olgin, 19, was dead on the scene, and Mary Christine Chapa, 18, is in a hospital in serious condition. Police in Portland, Texas, say the girls probably walked with their assailant into knee-deep grass and were fired on with a large-caliber handgun, the Corpus Christi Caller-Times reports.

“It’s marshy down there, and the tall grass didn’t allow any identifiable footprints," said Police Chief Randy Wright. But investigators did find shell casings there and say it was not a random incident, KRISTV.com reports. According to Mollie's roommate, Mollie and Mary were a fun-loving couple and hadn't encountered any resistance to their relationship in the small community. Mary, at least, is still "able to communicate," said Wright. "But we have not yet been able to talk with her." (More lesbians stories.)
