Have researchers finally found a better way to remove cellulite? Introducing Cellulaze, a treatment that uses lasers to go under the skin and melt some of the fat that causes the dimpling of the skin atop it. The lasers also fight the root causes of cellulite—other treatments do not—by cutting the septae, connective fibers that are thought to pull down the skin and thus worsen the uneven appearance, as well as thicken skin. Some doctors say Cellulaze is much more effective, and lasts longer, than any other treatment.

In fact, describing Cellulaze to the Wall Street Journal, doctors used terms like "nothing short of remarkable." But others say the treatment is "promising," and caution that more research is needed. And it's not without side-effects: Because of bruising, the possibility of fluid buildup, and small scars which eventually fade, it will be about three to six weeks after treatment before you'll actually want to don a bikini. And you'll have to save your pennies: Treatments cost anywhere from $5,000 to $7,000 for a bilateral area, plus $2,500 and up for additional areas. (More Cellulaze stories.)
