A few hours after Andy Griffith died this morning, his family released a statement saying he had been "laid to rest" near his home in North Carolina. What may have sounded like a mistake turns out to be true: The actor is indeed already buried, reports TMZ. A funeral director says Griffith was buried immediately on his Roanoke Island farm, as per his wishes. That suggests he went without embalming, though there's no confirmation.
