The guns Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow were carrying when they died in a hail of bullets during a police ambush 78 years ago are going to be auctioned off. The Colt .38-caliber revolver Bonnie had taped to her inner thigh and the .45-caliber Colt pistol Clyde had tucked into his waistband when lawmen riddled their car with bullets on a road in Louisiana will be part of a collection of items connected to the famous '30s outlaws to be sold in New Hampshire in September, reports the AP.
The Bonnie and Clyde items, which include Bonnie's cosmetics case and a letter Clyde wrote to his brother while on the run, come from the estate of a collector from Texas. He apparently acquired the guns from the Texas Ranger who led the attack; they're expected to fetch up to $200,000 apiece. "Just hang on to your hat, because it will be a bidding war," says the manager of the Bonnie & Clyde Ambush Museum, the 78-year-old son of a deputy sheriff who helped take down the duo.
