Cops: Driver Left Fatal Hit-and-Run to Buy Booze

Police in Florida responding to a fatal hit-and-run involving a pedestrian questioned a driver at the scene, who denied all knowledge of what happened. But the cops also smelled alcohol on the man's breath and got suspicious. Then they spotted damage on his car and connected it to the accident, reports SunSentinel.com. After that, they got video from a nearby convenience store showing that the man had recently parked there, checked his car for damage, bought alcohol, and inspected his car again before driving away.
