The Muppets may have cut their ties to Chick-fil-A to protest the company's opposition to gay marriage, but the fast-food franchise is about to use Berenstain Bear books to lure customers—and the bears aren't thrilled about it, notes NBC. A statement on the Berenstain Bears website says publisher HarperCollins has been working on the marketing marriage for more than a year, and "the Berenstain family does not at this time have control over whether this program proceeds or not," the statement read. "We hope those concerned about this issue will direct their comments toward HarperCollins and Chick-fil-A."

Meanwhile, others are hopping on the bandwagon of squawkers. San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee tweeted: "Closest #Chick-fil-A to San Francisco is 40 miles away, and I strongly recommend that they not try to come any closer." DC Mayor Vincent Gray also took to Twitter: "I would not support #hate chicken." Sarah Palin, however, did lend her support (an event that CNN got into a pickle covering).
