Alex Morgan scored in the 123rd minute to lift the United States over Canada 4-3 in a thrilling semifinal match today and send the Americans into the gold medal game against Japan. The victory overshadowed a hat trick by Canada's Christine Sinclair. The US had to rally three times to tie the game following Sinclair goals, the final time coming in the 80th minute on Abby Wambach's penalty kick that evened the game at 3-3. The United States' Megan Rapinoe scored two goals.
The final at Wembley Stadium will be a rematch of last year's World Cup final, won by Japan on penalty kicks.
