The man who confessed to murdering 6-year-old Etan Patz in 1979 kept a photo of the boy for years following the killing, his ex-wife told police. Daisy Rivera, former spouse of Pedro Hernandez, said she found the picture, which was apparently cut from a missing persons poster, in a “box of his personal papers," a law enforcement source told the New York Post. When she asked him about it, an enraged Hernandez told her to keep out of his things.
According to the source, cops procured a warrant to search Hernandez's house in New Jersey for the box containing the photo, but they could not find it. Authorities will have to rely on his ex-wife's testimony if there is a trial. In May, Hernandez confessed to murdering Patz and dumping his body in the trash. He was charged with second-degree murder. (More Etan Patz stories.)
