The Bourne Legacy gunned down the box office this weekend but didn't hit a bull's eye like former Bourne flicks. The franchise reboot opened at No.1 with $40.3 million, outpacing R-rated comedy The Campaign ($27.4 million) and dropping The Dark Knight Rises to third ($19.5 million). The adult dramedy Hope Springs, with Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones, opened well in fourth ($15.6 million). Moviegoing is down this weekend thanks to the Olympics, and late-night showings remain soft after the Dark Knight massacre, says the Hollywood Reporter. (More box office stories.)
