Obama Assassination Plot: Relative Went to Police

More details are trickling out about Isaac Aguigui, the purported leader of a group allegedly planning to overthrow the government and assassinate the president: In September of last year, a female relative of his told police she had concerns about the soldier. Specifically, that his wife had died that July under suspicious circumstances, and that Aguigui had purchased 15 guns. Police confirmed that the semi-automatic rifles and other firearms were bought legally; they also confirmed that the Army's criminal investigation division had opened a probe into the death of Aguigui's wife.

The police also got in touch with the FBI, and a police sergeant says he believes Aguigui was interviewed by the FBI. He was on leave from the military when he purchased the weapons, but is believed to have returned to Fort Stewart in Georgia soon after. The AP also elaborates on the deaths of Michael Roark, 19, and his girlfriend Tiffany York, 17. Roark served with Aguigui and the others charged alongside him—Michael Burnett, Anthony Peden, and Christopher Salmon—and was allegedly involved with the FEAR militia. But members of the group allegedly decided to kill Roark after believing he had betrayed them; he had left the Army two days before his murder. He and York were shot in the woods last December.
