Mark Buehrle, two starts from a minor injury to his throwing arm, thoroughly dominated the Texas Rangers today, giving up no hits and just one walk (to Sammy Sosa, whom he promptly picked off at first base).  Two Jim Thome solo shots and a grand slam from Jermaine Dye provided more offense than was strictly necessary.

It was the first no-hitter for the Sox in nearly 16 years, and the first against the Rangers in almost 12.  Buehrle simultaneously celebrated his no-hitter and mourned that he had allowed a baserunner, saying, "Perfect game would have been nice, too." (More Mark Buehrle stories.)
