The University of Chicago is better known for its academics than its Top 40 literacy, but this year, it's using a chart-topper to reach out to interested students. A letter to potential applicants reads: "I know that we just met you—and this is crazy—but here are our numbers," referencing Carly Rae Jepsen's unavoidable "Call Me Maybe." The letter then launches into a numerical list of its accolades ("7 Nobel Prize winners," etc.), and closes by asking prospective students to "call us, maybe." Can students expect more such humor if they enroll? "That kind of wit is in the culture of this place," a university rep tells the Chicago Tribune. (More Call Me Maybe stories.)
