Politics / Democratic National Convention Weather Moves Obama Speech Inside President will accept nomination in an arena By Evann Gastaldo, Newser Staff Posted Sep 5, 2012 10:06 AM CDT Copied President Barack Obama speaks during a campaign event at Norfolk State University, Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, in Norfolk, Va. (AP Photo/Pablo Martinez Monsivais) President Obama will officially accept the Democratic nomination tomorrow night … but thanks to the weather forecast, he'll be doing it in an arena instead of an open-air stadium. His Democratic National Convention speech is being moved to Charlotte's Time Warner Cable Arena from Bank of America Stadium, USA Today reports, because thunderstorms are predicted. The arena won't be able to accommodate all 65,000 ticket holders, but DNC officials say all ticket holders "will be invited to see the president between now and Election Day."
