In order to beat the video game "Guitar Hero III," you have to outplay a virtual version of legendary guitarist Slash. If you can't quite cut it, don't feel so bad—the real Slash can't, either. "I just actually played it for the first time last night," the former Guns 'N' Roses guitarist tells the Seattle Times. "I'm terrible."
He also admits that while he got hooked on earlier versions of the game, he never made it past the "expert" level. Not that he doesn't have an excuse. "I've been playing on tour, playing real guitar for the last seven or eight months," said Slash, who jams on "Welcome to the Jungle" in the latest incarnation of "Hero." He and his band Velvet Revolver are gearing up for a two-month tour of Australia and Great Britain. (More Guitar Hero 3 stories.)
