Police are examining a large rock and tree branch found inside a tiger enclosure at the San Francisco Zoo to determine if they may have been part of an attack or taunting of the animal that leaped out to kill a teenager last month, reports CNN. A witness reported seeing two victims who survived the tiger attack harassing lions at the zoo earlier in the day, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
The zoo re-opens today after installing a warning system and signs telling visitors to respect the animals. "Something prompted our tiger to leap over the exhibit and all I can do is ensure that's never going to happen again," said the zoo's director. The two survivors of the attack have hired an attorney to sue the zoo. (More Tatiana stories.)
