On last night's Daily Show, Jon Stewart took a break from the presidential race to focus on some of Congress' top nutjobs. Leading the pack of "magnificent bastards": Todd Akin of "legitimate rape" fame, who suggests that the female body has "magical powers." In fact, "two vaginas that pass each other can swap playlists," Stewart notes. Then there's Illinois Rep. Joe Walsh, who attacks opponent Tammy Duckworth (she lost both her legs in Iraq) for talking too much about her military service. Or Georgia Rep. Paul Broun, who calls evolution a "lie straight from the pit of Hell." How do these guys get on the national stage? Thanks to the state-level lawmakers, who are even crazier, Stewart says. To wit: Arkansas state lawmaker Jon Hubbard, who called slavery a "blessing in disguise." (More The Daily Show stories.)
