Colorado police confirmed today that a body they found is that of 10-year-old Jessica Ridgeway, who vanished while walking to school last week, KDVR reports. "Our focus has changed from a search for Jessica to a mission for justice for Jessica," said the police chief of Westminster, a suburb in northwestern Denver. "There is a predator at large in our community. We are doing everything in our power to apprehend that predator."
The FBI is asking residents to watch out for anyone behaving oddly—by missing appointments, cutting work, or altering their appearance, the AP reports. "It could be your boss, it could be your friend, and ultimately it could be your family member," said an FBI spokesman. Meanwhile, Westminster residents are getting used to seeing police stand guard at crosswalks and rummage around people's yards. "We're all a little bit on alert, but it's not fear," says a woman in the neighborhood. "We're angry because this is a good neighborhood." (More Jessica Ridgeway stories.)
