Bodyform proved today that it's a very good sport: The maxi pad maker posted a video response to a man whose rant on its Facebook page went viral last week, and Mashable calls it possibly "the best response to a Facebook rant—period." Richard Neill, whose post on Bodyform's page has more than 80,000 likes, complained about the deceptive nature of Bodyform's commercials—noting that in real life, a woman's menstrual period is not, in fact, a wonderful monthly experience during which she goes parachuting and rides lots of rollercoasters. When he finally got a girlfriend and went through her first period, "There was no joy, no extreme sports, no blue water spilling over wings, and no rocking soundtrack," he wrote.

In Bodyform's response, a fake CEO named Caroline Williams apologizes to Neill—while drinking blue water, of course. "You're right. The flagrant use of visualizations such as skydiving, rollerblading, and mountain biking—you forgot horse riding, Richard—are actually metaphors. They're not real," she says. But the company was just trying to shield men from the truth about periods, she explains. Men can't handle "the cramps, the mood swings, the insatiable hunger—and yes, Richard, the blood coursing from our uteri like a crimson landslide." (More Bodyform stories.)
