Former Penn State University president Graham Spanier, facing multiple charges for his alleged role in covering up the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse scandal, was released today on $125,000 bond after his arraignment, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Spanier's lawyer called the charges—conspiracy, obstruction, perjury, and child endangerment—"ridiculous" as Spanier left the court hearing. His preliminary hearing, along with those for suspended athletic director Tim Curley and former university VP Gary Schultz, is set for Monday. (More Graham Spanier stories.)
