Prince Charles avoided a stinky fate during a visit to New Zealand: Police nabbed an elderly man who admitted plans to hurl horse manure at the British royal. Sam Bacanov, 76, whom police called "a known anti-royalist," told reporters he had mixed manure with water to make it "porridge"-like. "I would have done it," he told the press as he sat on a trash can. His story in court, however, was a little different: He pleaded not guilty to plotting a crime in a public space, the AP reports.
Bacanov said he was angry over Charles' privileges, AFP reports. "He didn't qualify with his brain, he qualified with his body, and what (the) body produce(s) goes to toilet, so I would hit him with what goes to toilet," Bacanov reasoned. Police had spotted Bacanov and his bucket outside an Auckland venue ahead of a scheduled Charles and Camilla appearance. Out on bail, he must remain at least 1,600 feet from the couple.
