Chick-fil-A redux? ObamaCare opponents plan to flock to Papa John's today to support the company's stance against the law. More than 18,000 people have confirmed their attendance on a Facebook event for "National Papa John's Appreciation Day." CEO John Schnatter "has received intense media scrutiny in addition to being demonized as an evil rich guy by the Left," the event description says.
"The Left thinks we are discouraged; they think they have won. Let’s send a clear message this Friday, like we did on Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day, that we are here to stay and that we won’t stop fighting." Rebooting America, a conservative organization created just after the election, is planning the event. Though Papa John's Appreciation Day hasn't gained momentum to match Chick-fil-A's, group president John Charters has appeared on Fox Business to discuss it, and Papa John's scored a mention on Rush Limbaugh's show yesterday, Politico notes. Others, meanwhile, are boycotting the chain. (More Chick-fil-A stories.)
