Breaking Dawn—Part 2 Eats Up Box Office

Critics are thrilled it's finally over. Fans, it seems, not so much: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn—Part 2 wrapped up the Twilight series with a rocking $340 million worldwide debut and $141.3 million at home, says the Hollywood Reporter. Its franchise-high CinemaScore of A and highest grade yet on Rotten Tomatoes no doubt helped propel the film's success, reports E! Online (not to mention Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson's very public breakup). Meanwhile, SkyFall grossed $669.2 million worldwide and $41.5 million at home to make it the most lucrative Bond film ever.

Lincoln took third place with $21 million domestically despite showing on only 1,775 screens, and plans to reach 2,000 locations before the Thanksgiving holiday. Also, a pair of award contenders drew respectable business this weekend: Silver Linings Playbook with Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence banked $458,430, and Anna Karenina with Keira Knightley grossed $315,395 despite so-so reviews in the US.
