President Obama will sit down with Mitt Romney tomorrow at a private lunch meeting at the White House, spokesman Jay Carney announced today. "It will be the first opportunity they have had to visit since the election," Carney said, according to Politico. The meeting will take place in the White House's private dining room, and no media will be allowed to cover it, the AP reports.
Romney is also supposed to huddle with Paul Ryan, tweets Philip Rucker of the Washington Post. The former governor has conspicuously avoided politics and the media since his defeat. A source tells the AP he intends to join his son Tagg's venture capital firm, though a senior adviser tells the Washington Post that he's only renting an office there, rather than actually working for the company. But the White House meeting may fuel pundit speculation that Romney would make a bold, if unlikely, Cabinet choice. (More Mitt Romney stories.)
