Scott Brown is already throwing jabs at Ed Markey, the man Democrats might nominate to fill John Kerry's Senate seat. When WTKK-FM asked Brown if he'd run to replace Kerry, he laughed and replied, "I'll tell you what; they're making it awfully tempting. You got Ed Markey: Does he even live here anymore?" Brown boasted that throughout his term he'd flown home every weekend, "and I see, you know, most of the delegation, and I have never seen Ed on the airplane—ever."

Markey does still own his family's Massachusetts home, the Boston Globe clarifies, and he maintains it as his legal voting address. But after 36 years in the House, even Markey appears aware that he's open to criticism that he spends too much time in DC. An internal poll he conducted to assess a potential run asked voters if they thought he returned to his district enough. (More Scott Brown stories.)
