Moviegoers started off the New Year with a healthy dose of blood and gore, pushing Texas Chainsaw 3D to the weekend's No. 1 spot with $23 million, reports the LA Times. That number dethroned Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, which claimed $17.5 million and the No. 3 spot, while Django Unchained grabbed $20.1 million and the runner-up status.
