If President Obama questions the idea of putting armed guards in every school, then why is he willing to let the Secret Service protect Sasha and Malia while they're in class? Because he's an "elitist hypocrite when it comes to a fair share of security," asserts the NRA in an ad released last night, as spotted by Raw Story. Among the digs: "Are the president’s kids more important than yours?" and "Protection for their kids, and gun-free zones for ours."
Meanwhile, Texas Rep. Steve Stockman also took a swing at Obama in an interview with Greta Van Susteren that also focused on guns and kids. Stockman, you'll recall, is the Republican who voiced his willingness to file to impeach Obama should he take executive action on gun control. The lawmaker last night compared the president first to Lincoln (who was fond of executive orders) then to a certain Iraqi dictator. Obama's plan to "use kids" at his press conference today reminds Stockman "of Saddam Hussein, when he used kids." Van Susteren called that "a little bit of a stretch."
