Lincoln Writer: Sorry I Changed History

It was only 15 seconds of fake history—but Lincoln screenwriter Tony Kushner owned up to them after a Connecticut lawmaker complained, reports Raw Story. Democratic Rep. Joe Courtney criticized the film for portraying two congressmen as voting against the 13th Amendment that abolished slavery. "Representative Courtney is correct that the four members of the Connecticut delegation voted for the amendment," wrote Kushner in a public letter. But he says Lincoln was "a dramatic film and not an attack on their home state."

Courtney seemed partly appeased, saying he didn't want people to "leave the theater believing Connecticut’s representatives in the 38th Congress were on the wrong side of history." But he still says he wants a correction before Lincoln comes out on DVD. (More Lincoln stories.)
